Your jumper

A brittle knit,

fibrous threads beneath my thumbs,

stubborn stitches stand like guards in service,

-aligned in unity-

(a pre-rehearsed formation of course)-

A facade of commendable conviction

-Yet, with lukewarm execution.

As it’s only when you expand your senses beyond that of superficial abstractions,

assign person to facade;

that I see you breathe life into the inanimate,

weave humanity into a formerly faceless layer;

thus binding this resurgence of life into whoever may wear it,

                                                                                                   – who is I,

for now.

Armed by guards for a few precious moments before I sleep,

our collective warmth embroidering barricades while they fall-

as brittle knit relents, seeping you in each of the senses
